THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a site‑based role at our Murchison Operations, working an 8:6 roster.

  • Play an active role in supporting project expansion, contributing to the development and refinement of geological procedures and standards.
  • Deliver open pit geology functions including ore block design, blast movement updates, ore mark‑ups and providing technical support to ensure efficient pit operations.
  • Supervise ore extraction.
  • Monitor, verify and report on daily ore and waste movements to maintain accurate production tracking.
  • Support the preparation of weekly plans and schedules for in‑pit geological work.
  • Carry out detailed geological mapping within the pit to guide ongoing mining activities.
  • Coordinate grade control and exploration drilling programs, including geological interpretation to inform future open pit designs.
  • Complete high‑quality logging of RC chips and diamond core.
  • Perform reconciliation work, wall mapping and QA/QC tasks to ensure data accuracy and geological integrity.

ABOUT YOU

  • Current WA “C” Class driver’s licence.
  • B.Sc. in Geology or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ industry experience, including exposure to a Project Geologist role in Open Pit environments, ideally with narrow vein gold experience.
  • High competency in Surpac and Leapfrog.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong geological interpretation skills with the ability to contribute to resource estimation.
  • Sound understanding of QA/QC procedures, drilling and sampling practices, and standard gold industry analytical methods.
  • Awareness of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills and proven ability to build collaborative working relationships.
  • A can‑do, team‑oriented attitude.
  • Commitment to maintaining a proactive and safe working environment.
